History Of Soil Science Study Program

The Soil Science Study Program is under Faculty of Agriculture Lambung Mangkurat University which was established on the basis of Government Regulation No. 41/1960 on October 29, 1960 based in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan Province. The Faculty was officially opened on October 3, 1961 by Prof. Dr. Ir. Tojib Hadiwidjaja as Minister of higher education and science.

The Soil Science Study Program under auspices of Soil Department is one of the 7 (seven) study program in 4 (four) department within the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lambung Mangkurat. Soil Science Study Program Faculty of Agriculture University of Lambung Mangkurat began operational on 11 July 1996, in accordance with the decree of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of National Education No.: 228/DIKTI/Kep/96.  With the enactment of the Decree of the Directorate General of Higher Education No. 163/DIKTI/KEP/2007 dated November 29, 2007 concerning the Arrangement and Codification of Study Program at the College, then Study Program of Agronomy, Science of Pest and Plant Diseases, and soil science were merged into Agroecotechnology Study Pogram. Soil Science Study Program ULM with the help of the Indonesian Soil Science Association (HITI) proposed reopening of Soil Science Study Program, and on April 16, 2013 the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia through Decree Number 117/E/O/2013 concerning the Re-Establishment of Permits for operating Soil Science Study Program (S1) on the University of Lambung Mangkurat in Banjarmasin issued a permit for operating Soil Science Study Program (S1) ULM.  Since 2013, Soil Science Study Program ULM has accepted new students.

Accreditation Rating

Soil Science Study Program ULM has proposed for study program accreditation several times to the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education (BAN-PT). In 2004 Soil Science Study Program was accredited by  BAN-PT with Accreditation Rank A (Very Good) for the period of 15 October 2009 to 15 October 2014. Since not receiving new students since 2008 and merged into your Agroecotechnology Study Program, Soil Science Study Program ULM obtained Accreditation B from from BAN-PT for the period September 2, 2010 to September 2, 2015. With the permission of the new operasional, Soil Science Study Program return obtained Accreditation A from BAN-PT for the period July 10, 2015 to July 10, 2020. Furthermore for the period July 11, 2020 to July 11, 2025, Soil Science Study Program was again accredited by BAN-PT with Accreditation Rank A.
